Corrections Policy
WECU News is committed to accuracy. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so plainly.
If a factual error is identified in a published article, we correct it as soon as possible after verifying the correction. Depending on the nature of the error, we handle it one of two ways:
- Minor corrections — small factual errors (a misspelled name, an incorrect date, a typo) are corrected directly in the article. A note at the bottom of the piece discloses what was changed and when.
- Substantial corrections — errors that affect the meaning, accuracy, or fairness of a story are corrected in the body of the article, with a clearly labeled editor's note explaining what was wrong, what has been corrected, and when the correction was made.
We do not quietly edit or remove factual claims after publication without disclosure. If an entire article is retracted, a notice explaining why will replace the original content.
If you believe something we've published contains an error, please contact us at wecumedia1@gmail.com. Include a link to the article and a description of the issue, and we'll review it promptly.
