For Rebecca Weber, speaking up for older Americans started at home. Her late father, Dan Weber, founded the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), and she has led it since 2020. On Gary Binford's United Patriots Uprising, Weber said her father had a debilitating stroke in 2019 and died in 2020, and that when she wakes up each day and talks with members about the issues they face, she knows the group is making a real difference.
AMAC's Rebecca Weber Lays Out Her Group's 2026 Priorities
The CEO of the Association of Mature American Citizens spoke with Gary Binford about her late father, who started the group, and the issues she says her members care about most.

The episode, titled "Rebecca Weber Works Tirelessly To Preserve Faith, Family, Freedom," covered the group's national agenda. Weber named election integrity as AMAC's first priority. She named health care costs for seniors on Medicare and the future of Social Security as the other two.
Dan Weber founded AMAC in 2007 after growing frustrated with the direction of AARP, where he had been a member. The group calls itself a conservative alternative to AARP. Weber said AMAC now has more than two million members, and The Federalist reported 2.2 million dues-paying members in 2024. She said membership costs $17 a year, which AOL reported in 2025 as the first-year price. Weber described AMAC as a David facing AARP's Goliath, and The Federalist put AARP's claimed membership at 38 million.
Weber said AARP "backed Obamacare in '09" and later backed the Inflation Reduction Act. AARP did support the House health care bill in 2009, according to a release from then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office that quoted an AARP executive. In 2022 it backed the Inflation Reduction Act for its prescription drug provisions, which let Medicare negotiate drug prices.
On elections, Weber urged passage of the SAVE Act, which she said would keep non-citizens from voting. The House passed the bill on Feb. 11, 2026, after similar bills passed the House in 2024 and 2025 and stalled in the Senate. As of mid-March it was awaiting a Senate vote. The bill would require documentary proof of citizenship to register for federal elections and photo ID to vote.
On Social Security, Weber warned that an automatic benefit cut of 25% is about six years away unless Congress acts. She said AMAC has proposals that would keep the program solvent for another 75 years without raising taxes, and she criticized lawmakers for avoiding the subject. The 2026 trustees report, released June 9, projects the retirement fund's reserves will run out in the fourth quarter of 2032. After that, ongoing revenue would cover about 78% of scheduled benefits, a cut of roughly 22%. AMAC is hosting an online Social Security insolvency update on Saturday, Oct. 10.
On health care, Weber said AMAC wants lower costs and wants seniors on Medicare to keep access to good doctors and inexpensive drugs. On state issues, she said members back protecting life in the womb and keeping boys out of girls' sports. She also cited tax cuts, including property tax reduction in Florida.
Weber said the effort to preserve American values "really starts in our homes." She encouraged listeners to sit down with family at the kitchen table and talk about why they think America is great, and to teach young people why it matters, as she is doing with her grandchildren. She cited the election of Zohran Mamdani in New York as a wake-up call, saying he does not share her values. Weber said she knows she has "God's protection" and would rather help others become equipped than worry about herself.
Weber also promoted four events scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 16 at the America First Warehouse in Ronkonkoma, New York. She said film director Chris Burgard will show and discuss his movie "Remember the Alamo" on Friday, Oct. 16. She said investigative journalist Lara Logan is among the speakers Saturday, and that retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn speaks Sunday afternoon, followed by a VIP dinner. She said AMAC is also looking at Georgia, Texas and Florida for training boot camps in early 2027.
Binford said the show's focus is "the attempted Marxist communist socialist takeover of America." He closed the episode by urging listeners to vote for Republican candidates in the midterm elections and to "keep the Democrats out," saying Republicans must hold the House and the Senate so President Trump can continue his agenda. He said his next guest, scheduled for release Oct. 13, is Dr. Ben Carson. Binford said more than 250 guests have appeared on the show, and past episodes are in the Radio Influence archive.
