Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn Issues Stark Warning Ahead of Election

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn tells host Gary Binford the midterms are “not politics as usual” and has a blunt question for anyone who stays home.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn Issues Stark Warning Ahead of Election

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has a question for anyone who complains about Washington. Did you vote? If the answer is no, he told host Gary Binford, “then you can’t really complain about it.” Flynn made his pitch on United Patriots Uprising ahead of the Nov. 3 midterms, in an interview Binford recorded after a weekend event with Flynn on Long Island.

Flynn had cast his own ballot early in Florida that morning because he will be away on Election Day. He described a polling place run by professionals, a paper ballot fed into a counting machine and a request for valid photo ID, and said Florida takes elections “a lot more serious” than much of the country.

Politics Starts at Home

Flynn said the country can “stitch ourselves back together” more through local politics than through Washington. He sums it up as “local action equals a national impact,” and he pointed to school board races that can be decided by as few as five votes.

He has a tax argument he tries on audiences. Most people tell him they pay taxes and pay too many, and he says that makes them part of politics whether they like it or not. The same goes for the tax on a gallon of gas. Flynn said he studied the bond issues and an insurance-rate question on his own county ballot before he voted.

Voting is only where it starts, he said. He urged listeners to volunteer at a precinct or for a candidate, and said he has worked phone banks and knocked on doors himself. He wears an “I vote” badge, and when someone at the grocery store or the gas station gripes about prices, he said, ask them, “Hey, you voting next week?”

The Machines

Binford asked about voting machines, and Flynn said no system is perfect. Any machine can be reached over a network, he argued. “You can connect to the internet through a thermometer on the wall,” he said. He said President Trump and the director of national intelligence have both acknowledged foreign influence in election systems, and he named Iran, Russia, China and Venezuela as governments he said have affected them.

Flynn also said an office in Serbia, which he stressed was not the Serbian government, worked alongside Chinese actors in a building there in what he called the potential theft of the 2024 election. He said he thinks Elon Musk may have been the one who got involved to shut it down.

On noncitizen voting, Flynn said the last administration allowed 20 million illegal immigrants into the country and asked how many of them will vote. He said some liberal governors in blue states are allowing it, and suggested that immigrants who vote for the other party “can stay.”

None of that is a reason to quit, he said. “That doesn’t mean we give up on it. It means we fight through it,” Flynn said, comparing the fight to a battlefield objective where “you’re going to take some losses” and you still plant the flag.

How Empires End

Flynn offered a bleak timeline. Empires fall in stages, he said, beginning with complacency and then apathy and ending in what he called “obedience or slavery.” He said too many Americans are already complacent or apathetic, and that the slide can happen very rapidly, possibly “in the next couple of years” if voters get this election wrong.

He said the federal government has grown “times five” since Sept. 11 and that people planted in key positions during the Biden administration are “like a tick that is embedded with Lyme disease deep into your calf.” The justice system, the FBI and the intelligence community have been weaponized against elected officials, Flynn said, and during Trump’s first term they ran him out of Washington and tried to bury him in prison.

Flynn acknowledged that some voters are a little disappointed in what Trump has or hasn’t done in his second term, and he blamed a bureaucracy that grew again under Biden. He said that is why Trump may have to consider using executive authorities. That may be needed “maybe not so much for the election if people get out and vote,” he said, but the president has a duty to “preserve” the Constitution and will have to “seriously consider” the powers his office holds if it looks to be at risk.

The Left and Europe

Flynn said a well-funded, well-led group of leftists wants to turn the Constitution “around on itself.” He described a takeover by “a series of isms” whose followers want to eliminate policing, prisons, borders and the Supreme Court, and he said those goals are tenets of the Democratic Socialist Party of America. Socialism, he said, is “a soft word for saying communism,” and the word “Democrat” in the group’s name is there to make Democrats feel included.

He said he had just come off a call with people in Europe, which he said “is on fire.” Flynn said the potential to lose France, most of Eastern Europe and England is very real, and he called those countries the doorstep to America.

Accountability and Pressure

Binford recalled that when he first saw Flynn speak in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2020, Flynn asked whether Americans would have the “intestinal fortitude” to take out the trash once the traitors are exposed. Asked whether that moment has arrived, Flynn said he believes some people will be held accountable and pointed to a grand jury in Florida. “I don’t know whether this grand jury in Florida is going to go after some of these people to indict them,” he said, but added that from what he has heard there is enough evidence to indict some senior people. He said Tulsi Gabbard named names at a White House briefing last summer, and that Trump has followed up since. Flynn also named John Bolton and said it was his guess that Bolton has information he is “providing to the Department of Justice.”

Flynn pointed to the Bud Light and Cracker Barrel backlashes as examples of the public holding companies to account, and said letter and phone campaigns to elected representatives matter.

The Long Island Weekend

Flynn said the weekend included a film on Friday night and a three-and-a-half-hour live show hosted by Lara Logan on Saturday with guests who understood election systems. On Sunday, he said, an allied intelligence group trained community activists on how to deal with what he called the growth of radical Islam in their neighborhoods. He said attendees saw maps showing the number of mosques across New York State, and that the application of Sharia law in Texas is “the number one issue” in a couple of counties and districts there this election.

The Closing Appeal

Binford ended the show with a plea of his own. “Your vote matters, everyone,” he said, and if listeners want President Trump to keep going, “we must retain the House and Senate.” He asked them to tell their friends and neighbors, and to send them the interview if they need convincing.
